Canon's KH21ex5.7 IRSE lens is a one-half inch long length HD zoom lens specifically designed for use with Sony's HD XDCAM cameras, which use three 1/2-inch 1440-element CCD imagers. Optical and mechanical design innovations include special coatings to minimize ghosting, flare, and other optical aberrations caused by strong light sources, and high MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) without affecting the maximum relative aperture throughout the entire zoom range.
