Focus Optics completely rehoused the optics of the highly-regarded Nikkor 14-24mm zoom lens into an all-new design. All new mechanical elements reverse the direction of focus to standard cine style. The focus rotation is extended to 126 degrees with an anti-backlash mechanism for repeatable accuracy. There are 14 focus witness marks (1’, 1’2”, 1’4”, 1’8”, 1’10”, 2’, 2’6”, 3’, 4’, 5’, 8’, 10’ and infinity). M.O.D. is one foot. For use of the lens when shooting VistaVision, a replacement screw-in front housing ring is included as the standard ring will vignette the frame on the widest focal length.
The zoom mechanism uses a unique dual-bearing race design to eliminate image shift. T-stop range is from T2.8 - 22.
The front diameter of the Ruby 14-24 is 110mm, and the lens accepts a screw-in 102mm filter.
The lens's overall length is 138mm, with a weight of 3 lbs.
