The RED One shoots in a compressed RAW format that is akin to shooting an electronic film negative. This data can then be transformed into video of various resolutions or scanned out to film. A 720p live HD-SDI output is always available with a 4:4:4 1080p available during playback. Material is recorded to either a high speed CF data card or to RED Drive hard drives. A 16G CF card can hold approximately 10 minutes of 4K material and a 320G RED Drive can hold approximately 200 minutes.
The RED One can shoot in 4K up to 30fps and by windowing the sensor can reach up to 120fps in 2K. The camera records with the variable compression codecs of REDCODE 28 and REDCODE 36. Relative sensitivity is 320 ISO with an excellent dynamic range for a cinematic look.
