While the Arri MMB-1 was designed with the Sony EX1 / EX3 cameras in mind, it can also work for a variety of other camera systems. The MMB-1 mattebox with the rear bellows attached will cover the RED 18-50 when shooting full 4K on that camera, allowing the use of three filters, with two rotating.
A 114mm clamping light trap ring will be available so that the MMB-1 can be clamped directly onto the lens, allowing two filter stages with the rear stage rotating. An optional replacement rotating rear filter tray assembly will accept a top-loading tray instead of the standard side-loading tray for greater use of graduated filters.
In the future, a replacement rear clamp ring will accommodate the RED 18-85 zoom, while allowing the use of two filters stages with the rear stage rotating. Abel Cine Tech also manufactures an adapter to mount the MMB-1 mattebox or MFF-1 follow focus to 15mm or 19mm studio bridgeplate rods.
