For ease of use, the unit is configured for immediate installation and connection to your host computer through a x4, x8 or x16 PCI Express Switch Module. Used with a Mac Pro, or similar servers or workstations, the SilverStor 10-Bay Desktop SAS/SATA JBOD/RAID enables 1000 MB/s data transfer via direct connection to the host computer’s PCI Express bus (using a supplied Host Cable Adapter). This allows the installation of a RAID controller and other PCI Express peripherals directly inside the SilverStor desktop system.
Ultra-quiet and unobtrusive with a thermostatically controlled cooling system, 10-Bay systems are configured with ten 1TB, 2TB or 3TB disk drives (hot swappable, in easily removable disk carriers). Other compatible drive types available include 15K RPM SAS devices.
All SilverStor products use Enterprise-class drives for the highest standards of reliability.
