The Sony SxS-1A provides the same shooting capability as SxS PRO as well as high performance and reliability for professional use. In order to keep track of the SxS-1A remaining usage, Sony has equipped the latest PMW-EX1R and PMW-350 camcorders with a “media life indicator” which is shown on the camcorder display.
Please note: the following camcorder models will require a firmware upgrade to utilize the SxS-1A cards - EX1, EX1R, EX3, and PMW-350. The PMW-320 and PMW-500 should work with no update needed.
The necessary firmware updates can be downloaded at Sony's site.
