Taking the place of the original RED battery mount, the GP-TS-RED2 is a dual battery mount that plugs directly into the RED One camera and transfers the battery status information between the RED battery bricks and the RED One camera.
The GP-TS-RED2 mounts to the RED Drive Cradle, Quickplate or other 3rd party battery mounts such as the Element Technica Battery plate. Battery status is communicated from the battery mounted on the right side plate. When using the GP-TS-RED2, a battery can be mounted on the right plate until the camera indicates it is growing weak, at which point another battery can be mounted to the left plate so that the first battery can be swapped while never interrupting power to the camera. Or, two batteries can be used at once for double the run time and the status indicator in the camera will continue to function.
By directly mounting and cabling the unit to the camera, the GP-TS-RED2 avoids any possible issues due to poor contact between adapters. The GP-TS-RED2 also features a properly fused P-Tap 12VDC accessory port.
