The Tiffen T1 is a filter that removes most of the "far red" contamination, making blacks look cleaner. This is especially important on cameras with extended color gamut sensitivity. Far red contamination is often confused with infrared contamination, which is a different wavelength on the color spectrum. A Tiffen T1 filter is suggested to be used on the camera lens as all time and under all lighting conditions.
