NAB '12: PRG TruColor HS Remote Phosphor Lighting

The TruColor HS from PRG has more than twice the output of a 2 kW incandescent soft light. Additionally, it delivers an extended Color Rendering Index (CRI) over 95, generates a 160-degree beam spread, and uses only 400 watts of AC power.

The HS fixture utilizes Remote Phosphor Technology (RPT), which eliminates the color-accuracy limitations inherent in LED fixtures. Instead of relying on LEDs as the source of illumination, TruColor HS' independent phosphor panels emit high-quality light when excited by the high-frequency wavelengths from blue LEDs. It can deliver 96 CRI at 3,200K and 90 CRI at 5,200K. The interchangeable polycarbonate phosphor panels allow you to achieve both daylight and tungsten with a single fixture. Additional panels are in development to provide a complete range of color temperatures.
