Teradek has made a name for itself with its Cube line of wireless video transmitters. The Cube encodes video from HD-SDI sources and HDMI sources, then transmits it over Wi-Fi for viewing on a computer, iPad or other device. I've been very impressed with their progress over the years, and this NAB they announced several new products and features. Their updated Cube is the same size as previous versions, but features a side OLED screen, which shows the Cube's status and allows for quick adjustment of settings.
The Cube has become very popular for proxy building as well, and their Cube Case allows H.265 proxies to be built quickly. Now they have added a built-in memory card for proxy capture, which can then be quickly sent to a computer over NFS or FTP. Finally, the big news for ALEXA owners is the Cube's ability to provide remote control access to the camera's settings. Arri has an open initiative for developing Wi-Fi controls, and Teradek has quickly enabled the ability to change things like ISO, White Balance, Shutter and Run/Stop. More features are planned for the future. Watch my video to learn more.
