NAB 2017: Sony URX-S03D Slot-In Receiver

In this video, Andy Munitz from Sony shows us the slot-loading version of their dual-channel wireless receiver, the URX-S03D Slot-In.

The Slot-In version of the URX-S03D is designed to mount vertically inside a purpose-built slot at the rear of shoulder-mount cameras, such as Sony’s shoulder mount broadcast cameras or F5/F55 cameras with Sony’s ENG/EFP Build-Up Kit. As with the standalone version of the URX-P03D, which is also compatible with Sony’s Multi Interface shoe system, the Slot-In version can receive two distinct frequencies from two separate Sony wireless transmitters.

Additionally, these units feature true double tuner diversity for a total of four tuners, two per channel. DSP processing is on-board, as well as A/D and D/A converters (the last stage of D/A is bypassed when loaded into a camera so that a pure digital signal is sent to the camera’s memory card for recording). Check out the video for more details on Sony’s range of slot-load solutions and build options.
