Now that 2018 has wrapped, let's take a moment to look back at some of our most popular blog posts. As usual, a wide variety of topics were covered: new gear announcements, camera charts, in-depth technical explorations, Jem Schofield's 4K for 10K series, and of course, the updated version of our ever-popular FOV calculator.

See below for the full list, in no particular order, and then let us know in the comments what you'd like to see us cover in 2019.

AbelCine FOV Tool 2.0

Our original FOV tool was one of our most popular posts of all time, and at the beginning of 2018, Andy updated it to version 2.0. The new tool features the latest cameras and even more lenses. You can now select a specific recording mode on one camera to compare with another. Additionally, you can specify an image circle to overlay over the sample image to determine lens coverage. Try it out for yourself!

In this extensive post, Geoff shares some insight into why we chose to showcase full format gear in our booth. Read the full post.

Introducing "4K for $10K" with Jem Schofield

For this special series, we teamed up with Jem Schofield to highlight six cameras that fit the predetermined 4K for 10K criteria. Jem shot test footage with each camera and tested each under real-world conditions, using his experience as a DP and producer/director to explain how each one might fit into a realistic small to no crew shooting situation. Learn more about the series and watch all the episodes now.

8K: What Is it Good For? (or, RED's MONSTRO, Full Format, and The Bayer "Tax")

To paraphrase Jerry Seinfeld, what's the deal with these 8K cameras? And what advantages does 8K really bring? Geoff gives an in-depth lesson on resolution, pixels, color, and more to answer exactly those questions. Read the full post.
