Anton/Bauer Power Subscription Program FAQ

AbelCine's Anton/Bauer Power Subscription Program ensures you always have access to top-performing batteries and chargers. Here you will find answers to some frequently asked questions about how the program works.


How much does the Power Subscription Program cost?

Pricing for this program depends on your selection of eligible batteries and chargers. Use the online Pricing Calculator to estimate your monthly cost. You can mix and match the eligible models to suit your needs.


How long does the program last?

Each individualized Power Subscription Program lasts for a 3-year term.


How do I use the Pricing Calculator and where is it?

The online Pricing Calculator will estimate your monthly cost. Simply click the “+” symbol to add a specific battery model and the “-” to remove a model. The Monthly Plan Amount will automatically calculate. Note that this does not include sales tax and is provided for estimating purposes only.


Which batteries and chargers qualify for this program?

These are the qualifying models, which are available in Gold Mount or V-Mount (unless otherise noted):


Can I add other battery brands or Anton/Bauer models to this program?

AbelCine may add additional Anton/Bauer models to the program in the future, but for now only Dionic XT batteries and chargers qualify.


What is the minimum number of batteries/chargers I need to purchase to enroll in this program?

There are three options available with different minimum requirements. With any option, you can added batteries or chargers into your existing program at any time.

  • Option A: You are eligible to enroll in the plan with a minimum of 5 chargers and 20 batteries.
  • Option B: You are eligible to enroll in the plan with a minimum of 40 batteries.
  • Option C: You are eligible to enroll in the plan with a minimum of 20 batteries after the purchase of 5 chargers. To qualify, chargers must be invoiced no more than 30 days before enrollment. Previous charger purchases do not qualify.

How do I apply for the Program?

Simply contact Sales to begin your enrollment in the Anton/Bauer Power Subscription Program. We will create a quote for you and then put you in touch with the Finance team to complete the application process.

Can I ship batteries and chargers to multiple delivery locations?

At this time, only a single delivery address can be used for your program shipment.

What if a battery stops working or loses runtime capacity?

Batteries that lose approximately 1/3 of their original capacity can qualify for an exchange (see chart for details). In a real world scenario, that’s similar to a battery that used to provide an hour runtime, but now only delivers 40 minutes.

How can I help prevent batteries from reducing their runtime capacity quickly?

It is recommended that you discharge your new batteries, then recharge them to ensure that the battery maintains its runtime capacity for as long as possible.


If I think my enrolled battery or charger needs to be replaced what should I do?

If you think one of your units qualifies for replacement under the program terms, please contact Customer Service. Will we confirm eligibility and let you know where to send your equipment.

Who pays for the shipping of exchanged items?

When an exchange becomes necessary due to underperforming equipment, you will be responsible for shipping back suspect units to AbelCine. Then AbelCine will cover the shipping costs of returning replacement units.

It is recommended that you discharge your batteries to below 30% before shipping them.

How fast will batteries be returned to me?

AbelCine will make its best efforts to facilitate the trade within 48 hours of return notification from you, assuming product availability. Replacement batteries will be shipped once official notice of an exchange is received and acknowledged by AbelCine Customer Service.

One of our new batteries doesn’t function or is damaged. What should I do?

You have 10 business days to notify AbelCine of any missing, non-functioning, or damaged units once you receive your new or replacement equipment.

Are there any issues that do not qualify for a straight exchange of the same battery type?

The following issues do not qualify for an exchange under the program:

  • Water-damage
  • Lost batteries
  • Corrosion (unless by battery malfunction)
  • Damage from misuse
  • Housing damage from normal wear and tear
  • Intentional abuse
  • Battery modification


What should I do if my battery is dropped?

Anton/Bauer batteries are designed to withstand heavy use on set, including drops and impact. However, this can sometimes result in damage to the LCD screen or the battery shell, or breaking of the T-studs on the rear of the battery. If you would like to have your battery repaired, the cost varies for each model – starting at $225 for the Dionic XT 90 Gold Mount. Please contact customer service for more information.

At the end of the subscription period, all batteries must be returned in working order. If there is cosmetic damage to the battery shell or damage to the LED screen that does impact functionality, you may chose not to repair the battery without penalization.


Can I add batteries or chargers?

Yes, you can add batteries and chargers throughout the program to accommodate your increased power needs.

Simply reach out to AbelCine Customer Service to request an update to your battery subscription.

Can I remove batteries or chargers when a project ends, but before the program ends?

A reduction in units is not available during the 3-year program, but you are welcome to add as many as you want.

Is insurance coverage required on the batteries and chargers?

Yes, you need to retain insurance coverage to cover the units. Please speak with your AbelCine Finance contact for details.

Is there a maximum number of batteries/chargers that I can enroll?

There is no set maximum.

Does a warranty cover the units in my Program?

Batteries in the Power Subscription Program are covered under warranty up to 1,000 cycles during the 3-year subscription period. If a battery exceeds 1,000 cycles, it will no longer be covered by this program.

Will I be charged sales tax?

Yes, unless you have a tax exemption certificate on file. Please note that the online Pricing Calculator does not include sales tax. Your AbelCine Finance contact will provide you with those details when you receive your official quote.

Do I send monthly payments to AbelCine?

As a convenience, electronic monthly payments (via an auto-withdrawal payment from your designated bank account) will be made with De Lage Landen Financial Services, Inc. (DLL), AbelCine’s program financial partner. Your AbelCine Finance contact will work out the specifics with you.

Do I get to keep the batteries and chargers at the end of the term?

At the end of the 3-year term, all batteries and chargers must be returned to AbelCine.

If you would like to purchase your batteries and chargers at the end of the term, you must contact your sales representative to receive a quote on the purchase price. Pricing will be determined at the end of the lease based on fair market value.

What happens at the end of the Power Subscription Program? Can I renew?

AbelCine will contact clients near the end of the Power Subscription Program 3-year term to arrange for return of the units and discuss a new Program to suit your needs at that time. To help facilitate this, because sometimes it takes time to assess your current needs, the program will renew on a month-to-month basis until all the batteries and chargers are returned in full and/or a new agreement is in place.

When do I need to return my batteries at the end of the Program?

Participants in the Battery Subscription Program should return all battery and charger units to AbelCine within 15 days of the expiration date listed on your Program Agreement. Otherwise a month-to-month renewal will begin.
