Overview
The Sony SMAD-P3 MI Shoe (Multi-Interface) Adapter allows cable-free attachment of your UWP-D series wireless microphone receiver unit, the URX-P03, which is sold separately.
The wireless receiver of the UWP-D Series can be attached to camcorders or interchangeable-lens cameras with a MI (Multi-Interface) shoe when you use the MI shoe adaptor SMAD-P3. This eliminates the need for connecting cables. By using the MI shoe adapter, audio signals can be transmitted from the wireless receiver to your camera. In addition, the wireless receiver can pull power from the camera. Plus, the camera can control power ON/OFF which unifies power management.
Using an MI Shoe connection, the audio signal from your UWP-D11 or UWP-D12 wireless microphone package can be input from the wireless microphone receiver to your camera without an XLR cable.
In addition, power can be switched on and off from your camera or camcorder.
Operating your wireless receiver without batteries can reduce the weight and the front-heavy balance of the camera. Also, your power supply automatically switches to power from the camera when batteries are not inserted in the receiver.
