The ATOMOS Shogun 7 HDR Pro/Cinema 7" Monitor/Recorder/Switcher can be used as a standalone field monitor, recorder, or switcher for event, documentary, and live in-the-field storytelling, or as a tool for large-scale, on-set episodic TV or film productions. It is especially ideal for productions where multiple crew members (e.g., focus pullers, grips, and cinematographers) require a consistent visual reference across the field monitor ecosystem. Shogun 7's portable size enables the user to monitor, analyze, and tag while on set, and verify the look of finished content via real-time Dolby Vision output.

Portable Live Multi-cam

Monitor, record, and switch between (4) live HD-SDI video streams (and one program stream) for flexible field directing. Enjoy the freedom of asynchronous switching and gen lock in & out to connect to existing infrastructure. Shogun 7 offers up to 1080p60 SDI ISOs x 4 recording. Once you have completed capture of your streams, simply import the Atomos XML file into your editing software and your timeline will populate with all edits in place. Audio is also addressed, with each ISO and program record, mixed analog stereo channels are inserted, and (2) channels of digital audio are embedded in each recorded stream. The program stream always records the analog feed and switches between audio inputs for the on-camera audio, to match the switched feed.

Single-Camera Storytelling in 4K, or 2K Slow-Motion

With the latest HDMI 2.0 connection the user can capture up to 4Kp60 on any available camera, or via Quad Link, Dual Link or Single Link. If slow motion capture is critical for your production, Shogun 7 enables 2K capture up to 240p. You can also tag on-the-fly while recording, for direct-to-edit look up in Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere*, or Avid Media Composer*.

*NOTE: Requires 3rd party plug-ins (e.g., XtoCC) to enable .fcp XML compatibility.

Advanced Atomos Technology

"Dynamic AtomHDR" screen technology makes image blacks darker and whites brighter. The Shogun 7 supports real-time output to Dolby Vision-capable displays, enabling you to quickly verify that your creative intent translates perfectly for audiences at home. Atomos added Apple ProRes RAW recording to other popular formats, and live, asynchronous switching to record up to four real-time cameras, simultaneously.

The Shogun 7 is the most precise 7" field reference monitor to-date for both SDR and HDR production, as well as up to 2K/240p and 4K/60p formats. Present your work on an exceptional HDR display, with the first-to-market Dynamic AtomHDR backlit technology, featuring 360 zones that change the on-camera HDR monitor game. Dynamic AtomHDR achieves an astounding 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, with ultra-wide color reproduction that combines the deep contrast of OLED technology for intense shadow detail and bright 1500nit LCD performance for vivid daylight and HDR viewing.

Record RAW, Deliver Accurate Dolby Vision HDR

Atomos and Dolby have collaborated to provide live Dolby Vision HDMI output, from any SDI or HDMI HDR camera, via AtomOS 10. Simply connect your Dolby Vision-capable TV or monitor to your new generation ATOMOS Shogun 7 or Ninja V and AtomOS will automatically analyze the image, query the TV, and apply the appropriate color and brightness profiles for the ideal HDR image on the display. This ensures the HDR image always appears as intended on the end user's screen. This is a valuable on-set reference check for both the content creator and the client. This function is also available in playback and playout from RAW and Log-recorded ProRes RAW, ProRes and DNx rushes for instant time-saving, on-set and in-studio review. Utilize playback functions like slow motion, and insert edit and in and out points to speed up playlist compilation.

Edit HDR in the Field

Monitor, analyze, and tag shots, making the most of the Shogun 7's portability on the go. Record directly to your desired NLE editing/grading/transcoding formats, from camera to industry standard finishing workflows, and enjoy support for Apple Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, and Blackmagic Resolve. Play back rushes on-set from Shogun 7 to the best quality display, or to a TV with full Dolby Vision support.

Balanced Audio

A balanced XLR breakout cable (sold separately) allows the user to add 48V stereo mics, eliminating the need for a separate audio recorder. Select Mic or Line input levels, record up to (12) channels of digital audio from HDMI or SDI sources. The user can monitor selected stereo audio via the 3.5mm headphone jack.

High Speed Connections

Seamlessly connect any SDI or HDMI device for monitoring and recording. Cross-convert between HDMI 2.0 and 1.5G/3G/6G/12G/ Quad Link SDI in almost any combination, and eliminate the need for specialized 3rd-party converters.
