Overview

Overview

An ARRI artemis Spring Arm interfaces with your ARRI artemis Vest to provide high payload support in a lightweight design. Within the artemis family of products, you can select from Pro Set or Carbon Pro Set (sold separately) in three weight capacities. The sets include only one arm which would support your payload, hex keys, and a soft bag for storage.

This is the Pro Set with a payload capacity of 50.7lb (23 kg).

The artemis Spring Arm enables quick, precise, and soft operating which is implemented by the lightweight profile and shape. It is possible to adjust the angle between the arm and the operator's body or to modify the arm to suit either a right or left-handed operator. The turnover mechanism of the mating block can be adapted to whichever is the preferred operating side. You should be able to make these adjustments in a quick and safe manner.

The artemis Spring Arm was developed when creating the full family of artemis products. The manufacturer's aim was to fulfill the needs of camera stabilizer system users and operators by reflecting on their extensive experience in this field and by incorporating new materials and production processes.

Features:

  • Easily adjust for right or left-handed operators
  • (3) interchangeable spring sets for loads from 22.6 to 53.3lb (11 to 26 kg)
  • Easy spring pre-tensioning mechanism
  • Light, torsion-free construction with carbon fiber
  • Flip-over mechanism for vest connection via the mating block
  • Adjustable arm post friction using an included Hex Key
  • Arms connect with socket block to ARRI artemis Vest & to gimbals with a 5/8" arm post

Each artemis Spring Arm contains dozens of ball and pin bearings to maintain low friction during movement of individual segments. Flexibility remains important to ensure this. It is recommended to avoid extreme conditions which might cause dirt to clog the bearings.

Like a human arm, the artemis Spring Arm is composed of flexible joints and long, metal portions with names like elbow, bone, and shoulder. A detailed diagram of part names and locations should be included in the product manual for your reference after you purchase the equipment.

Several modifications are available for operators to make prior to use or between takes:

  • Change the Spring Arm tilt angle
  • Shift from right hand (standard) to left hand operation
  • Adjust springs to increase or decrease tension
  • Modify the arm post friction from fixed to free

This Carbon Pro Set also includes a 6mm Hex Key, a 4mm hex key, and a soft bag for storage.

A different combination of spring sets will determine the payload class of the arm. For your reference, you can select either the Pro Set or the Carbon Pro Set with this range of capacity:

  • 19 kg / 41.8 lb (sold separately)
  • 23 kg / 50.7 lb (this set)
  • 26 kg / 57.3 lb (sold separately)

NOTE: artemis Vest is sold separately from the Spring Arm. Artemis Spring Arms are shipped with a right hand setting which can be modified to suit.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to strong forces at play with these stabilizing arms, do not reach into the inside of the arm during operation so as to avoid accidental injury. Also, remember to relax all springs with the artemis Srping Arms are not in use.
