Block Battery S401 400Wh 14V / 28V DC Switchable Voltage Battery

The Block Battery S401 400Wh 14V / 28V DC Switchable Voltage Battery is designed for power intensive digital cinema camera rigs, providing 400Wh (28Ah) capacity at nominal 14.4V DC output, and 14Ah at nominal 28.8V DC output. Both voltages supply up to 15A maximum draw. Estimated runtime is approximately 4 hours on ARRI ALEXA, or 3 hours on a Sony F65, depending on camera rig accessories and environmental conditions.

Four XLR connectors (two 3-Pin XLR for 28.8V, two 4-Pin XLR for 14.4V) supply power to your camera rig, with an output selector switch to set voltage. An LCD power meter indicates hours of output power used, amount of output power remaining, output voltage at battery, and the amount of current being drawn by the output device.

Charging time for a depleted battery is ~5.5 hours on an EFC-1, EFC-2, or 2F1-Charger. The S401 also features a Battery Shut-Off at End of Discharge Cycle function. Output power will automatically shut-off when 28V DC output power is discharged to ~20V, or 14V DC output power is discharged to ~10V. 

The S401 can be stored Short Term at 41-77°F (5-25°C) for up to 1 week, with no output device plugs connected (OK to leave charger connected). For Long Term storage (i.e., greater than 1 week), fully charge the battery, make sure no charger or output device plugs are connected, and recharge every two months. Store at same temperature as Short Term.

CAUTION: Use BLOCK BATTERY chargers ONLY. Charge cycle completion is indicated with GREEN LED. If removing S401 BEFORE charging cycle completion, make sure Power Meter voltage reads 34V or Less BEFORE plugging in output device. Otherwise device being powered could shutdown or be DAMAGED. Voltage typically settles below 34V within an hour of being disconnected from charger.
