Overview
The Panasonic AJ-PX270PJ P2 HD AVC-ULTRA Camcorder features (3) third generation 1/3” 1080p advanced MOS imagers, providing increased sensitivity and significantly reduced noise while greatly enhancing low-light performance and overall image quality. With (2) microP2 card slots, as well as (1) full-size P2 card slot, the AJ-PX270 features SD and HD imaging and record options, native 1080i/p and 720p recording, and is also capable of full-raster 10-bit 1080/60p. With its breadth of recording options, image quality, full control over image parameters, and a wide variety of professional I/Os and expandability, the AJ-PX270 will address niches in network and station news workspaces, documentary, high-end corporate and sports production, as well as the rental market. The AJ-PX270PJ is the perfect companion to the larger AJ-PX5000 with whom it shares almost all functionality.
The AJ-PX270 is the first P2 HD handheld camcorder that features AVC-ULTRA recording, delivering the high quality and incredible efficiency of low-bit-rate recording, the creative controls of a high-end shoulder production camera and the flexibility of 3G/4G/LTE wireless connectivity, all in a compact, 5 lb package. Ideal for news acquisition or a wide range of sports, corporate, education and event applications.

AVC-ULTRA Recording
The PX270 can capture HD from a low bit rate of 12 Mbps to master-quality 200 Mbps. For high-quality recording, the camera records in 100 Mbps AVC-Intra 100, as well as 200 Mbps AVC-ULTRA Class200 (optional). For applications where file size is critical for long recording, the camcorder records in low-bit-rate AVC-LongG for extended recording and AVC-LongG25, which enables extended 1920 x 1080, 10-bit, 4:2:2 broadcast-quality recording (four times longer than AVC-Intra 100) on the same memory space. Record AVC-Proxy in parallel with higher-bandwidth production formats, enabling fast offline editing at bit rates from 6 Mbps down to 800Dkbps. The PX270 also records in DVCPRO HD, DVCPRO50, DVCPRO, and DV.
3G/4G/LTE Wireless Mobility
The PX270 features a wireless LAN function via an optional dongle, streaming and FTP via a 3G/4G/LTE network, and easy uplink, low-bit-rate proxy and full-quality broadcast content to make production workflow more efficient and accelerate broadcasting workflows from shooting, to on-air.
High-sensitivity, Low-noise 3MOS Image Sensors
The PX270's (3) 2.2M pixel, 1/3" 3MOS sensors offer full-pixel HD (1920 x 1080) resolution to deliver a horizontal resolution of 1,000 TV lines. The camcorder also achieves high F11 (59.94 Hz)/F12 (50 Hz) sensitivity to produce rich gradation and vibrant colors.

NOTE: Records variable frame rates in 1080/59.94p in 25 steps from 1fps to 60fps, including 24fps, 25fps and 30 fps as standard.
22X Zoom Lens with Three Main Focus Rings
A newly designed, compact 22X zoom lens with optical stabilizer offers a wide 28mm to telephoto 616mm (35mm equivalent) zoom range. The camera is also equipped with three manual operation lens rings (zoom, focus and iris) to provide comfortable manual control similar to interchangeable lenses, without the need for actual lens changes.
OLED Viewfinder
For rich blacks and natural motion handling, the PX270 features a high-resolution OLED viewfinder for true-to-life colors, as well as a 1.56-megapixel, high-resolution LCD monitor.
Efficient Design, Extensive Image Adjustment Capabilities
The PX270 features switches and volume controls located in the same positions found on a shoulder-mounted camera. The external terminals, which are used during recording, are located on the side panel. The PX270 has hue-adjustable, 12-axis color compensation for each color gamut and independent, three-axis skin-tone color compensation.
microP2 Card, P2 Card and SD Card Slots
2 x microP2 card slots enable the ultimate cost-effective operation. The microP2 card, with the same reliability as the P2 card, can be used without an adapter. The PX270 is also equipped with 1 x P2 card slot and 1 s SD/SDHC/SDXC card slot.
