The ARRI SMB-2 Tilt Set - 19mm Studio is optimized for 4" x 5.65" filters positioned either vertically or horizontally, and is well suited to most prime lenses and smaller zooms. It features a 4:3 ratio sunshade (for spherical lenses), integrated tilt/extension module and back plate (143mm R2 ring compatible), with stackable/rotatable 2-filter and 1-filter stages, (3) 4" x 5.65" filter trays and independent tray catchers, a two-part R2 bellow ring designed to follow the tilt movement of the SMB-2 with a 138mm round filter retaining ring and R4 screw-in reduction ring insert (R4 rings sold separately), and a 19mm studio rod support arm.

When recording a standard 2.8K image with ALEXA and using a 3-filter stage configuration, the SMB-2 covers lenses up to the 14mm Master Prime and 14mm Ultra Prime, as well as all Alura zooms.

Integrated Tilt Module 

The SMB-2 Tilt has an integrated tilt module that counteracts image artefacts linked to filter reflections by allowing the mattebox assembly to be quickly and easily tilted, without any need for additional accessories.

Stackable Filter Stages

Filter stages can be stacked together as single or dual filter stage modules. Filters are fully rotatable.The filter frame located at the rear of the filter group can be geared and all filter stages are fitted with independent "tray catchers.” 

Sunshade & Mattes 

The standard 4:3 ratio sunshade covers the full ALEXA sensor and permits repositioning in post. SMB-2 sunshades are easily removable by means of captive screws. Matte sets are available for both anamorphic and spherical shooting. 

Anamorphic Conversion Set 

The mattebox can be optimized for anamorphic filming by means of a unique 2:1 ratio sunshade, side flags and matte set (sold separately).

Advanced Flag Adjusters 

Top, bottom and side flags (sold separately) allow precise positioning thanks to advanced adjusters. The side flags are adjustable and the top flag has folding side flaps to reduce overall width if required.

138mm Tilting Filter Ring

A special rubber filter ring has been designed to accompany the mattebox tilting capability. The tilting filter ring comprises two similar-sized bellows that can be used as a single unit or stacked together to withstand greater tilt angles. The filter ring can hold a round 138mm filter.

Top Accessory Mount

An accessory mount (sold separately) can be fitted directly onto the mattebox body, offering surfaces for French flag arms and incorporating a 3/8-16" sliding mount that is ideal for ultrasonic sensors such as the ARRI UDM-1.
