Bright Tangerine Misfit Pola+ Mattebox Mattebox 15mm LWS Kit

The Bright Tangerine Misfit Pola+ Mattebox Mattebox 15mm LWS Kit features an ultra-lightweight design, weighing only 0.62 lb (284 g) in clamp-on configuration (without the included 15mm LWS rod mounting bracket and Anti-Reflective Tilt Adapter; weighs 0.72 lb / 0.33kg with both accessories installed). It is ideal for "run & gun" configurations, aerial shooting, gimbal, or Steadicam work.

Like the Misfit Atom, the Misfit Pola+ Mattebox has been designed to accommodate up to two 4x4" or 4x5.65" filters (or a combination of both) within its frame. The Misfit Pola+ Mattebox also offers the option of mounting a single 138mm round filter, in addition to the two filters already in the frame. To minimize internal reflections, the Anti-Reflective Tilt Adapter (included) is mounted on the mattebox. This bracket adds 6° of tilt for up to two filters.

The Misfit Pola+ Mattebox features a native 143mm Clamp-On console, which is also compatible with Bright Tangerine clamp-on ring adapters and rubber donuts, enabling use with a variety of Cine and Photo lenses (including square front anamorphic and telescoping lenses). The clamping screw provides quick and easy mounting to secure the Misfit Pola+ Mattebox on the lens front housing. A 15mm LWS support bracket is also included for mounting the mattebox on support rods, and the Misfit Pola+ Mattebox can also be adapted for 15mm Studio & 19mm Studio rod formats with additional brackets (sold separately).

The rubber sunshade provides protection from unwanted lens flares, and can be removed, saving an extra 0.22 lb (100 g) of weight. This feature is very useful when filming with drones, as it helps to reduce wind resistance. A carbon fiber top flag is also available (sold separately) to provide more protection from the sun or studio lights, helping improve the contrast and resolution of your image.

138mm rounds filters are mounted securely using the Misfit Pola+ Mattebox Rota Ring, with no risk of falling out during filming. Any standard 138mm round filter from a number of popular manufacturers can be used, including polarizers, diopters, split-diopters, or effects filters (e.g., diffusion). Once mounted, the 138mm circular filter can easily be rotated up to 120° by using the sliding lever on the Rota Ring. This range of motion is more than enough to effectively use a circular polarizer, which only requires 90° of rotation to achieve minimum to maximum effect. When no circular filter is being used, the Rota Ring can be removed to allow the matte box to clamp further onto the lens for a wider field of view.

NOTE: When using a +1 diopter, one additional 4x4" or 4x5.65" can be mounted into the frame. If you are using a +2 diopter, no additional filters can be mounted due to the thickness of the diopter. A +3 diopter can be used with the Misfit Pola+ Mattebox with the addition of the rubber bellows donut or Black Hole (not included). By using the rubber bellows or Black Hole donut, you can add a second 138mm circular filter, effectively converting the Misfit Pola+ Mattebox into a 4-Stage mattebox.
