X-Rite ColorChecker Video Chart

The X-Rite ColorChecker Video Chart is the next evolution of the original 24-patch Macbeth ColorChecker, a standard in the industry for 40 years. This 2-sided target provides chromatic color chips, skin tone chips, and gray reference chips on one side with a spectrally neutral white balance card on the opposite side. The larger sizing of this chart offers accurate pre-camera checks.

The target charts detailed below will help with color grading, color balance, gray balance, color matching across multiple cameras, plus establish a neutral white balance in-camera and adjust for shooting under mixed lighting.

Video Color Target:

• Chromatic Colors: six saturated and six de-saturated color chips
• Skin Tones: six color chips from light to dark with different undertones
• Gray Levels: four larger steps for even gray balance, including white, 40IRE gray, deep gray and high gloss black reference patches
• Linear Grayscale: six steps for even gray balance, including highlight and shadow regions
• Illumination Check Chips: black and white color chips at two corners to better assist in determining even illumination

• Remove the need to neutralize frames individually during the editing process
• Improve the color preview on your camera’s display so histograms are more reliable
