The compact and versatile Canon EOS C200 Digital Cinema Camera is a ready-to-go production camera that comes with a built-in OLED electronic viewfinder and an array of accessories, including a 4" touch screen LCD monitor, a versatile handle and ergonomic handgrip. The EOS C200 camera can record internal 4K RAW to a CFast™ 2.0 card in Canon's new Cinema RAW Light format without compromising detail, as well as 4K UHD and Full HD in MP4 format to SD cards.

Its small form factor (weighs only 3.2 lb!) suits gimbals, aerial devices, or shooting in tight spaces. The lightweight body may mean you can forgo adding an optional shoulder rig since it is suitable for gimbal and Steadicam work. Simply add an optional lens and your recording media to make this production-ready camera complete for your next documentary or in-house company project. You can also use this camera for RAW recordings in tight places where larger professional cameras cannot fit.

The 8.85 Megapixel Super 35mm CMOS sensor, 13 stops of dynamic range, Dual Pixel CMOS AF, full compatibility with Canon EF-mount lenses, and HDR capability help make the EOS C200 ideal for film, documentary and television production, corporate and event videography, and newsgathering.

User interface and controls are similar to your existing Canon camera, so your touch memory can take over when modifying settings.

8.85 Megapixel Super 35mm CMOS Sensor

The EOS C200 Digital Cinema Camera integrates an 8.85 Megapixel Super 35mm 16:9 CMOS sensor that supports 4K (DCI) recording with a maximum resolution of 4096 x 2160 pixels. The camera fully utilizes the image data delivered by this 4K CMOS sensor to also enable Over Sampling HD Processing for 2K (DCI) and Full HD 1080/60p recording. You can capture up to 120fps on this camera without cropping the sensor

Each pixel in this CMOS imaging sensor also maintains a wide pixel pitch that maximizes the amount of light that falls on to each photo site. This enhances the EOS C200 camera's sensitivity while also minimizing noise and supporting ISO speeds of up to 102,400 for extreme low-light imaging. This sensor also reduces data-readout time which results in reduced rolling-shutter artifacts.

Lens Compatibility

A major aspect of the creative filmmaking potential of the EOS C200 Digital Cinema Camera is its compatibility with the full range of more than 100 Canon EF and EF-S photographic lenses (including specialty tilt-shift and fisheye models) and Canon's optional 4K CN-E Cinema prime and zoom lenses, including the ENG-style Canon CINE-SERVO and COMPACT-SERVO zooms. Improved EF lens communication capabilities of the EOS C200 camera provide:

  • Display of CN-E Cinema lens T-values
  • Compatibility with Dual-Pixel CMOS AF
  • Lens metadata acquisition
  • Chromatic aberration correction

Iris Values

You can switch the camera display to show iris values between the F-stop and T-value. This helps those shooting on movie sets who prefer to know how much light is passing through the opening of the lens and reaching the sensor. T-values are the traditional measure of light reaching the sensor in video production, while F-stop is the measure of light in still photography. The ability to see the F-stop helps those transitioning from still to video shooting.

Integrated and Onboard Accessories

The EOS C200 Digital Cinema Camera includes a built-in OLED electronic viewfinder, a 4-inch Touch Screen LCD Monitor (LM-V1), Camera Grip (GR-V1), Handle Unit (HDU-2) and Battery Charger (CG-A20). The combination creates a camera package ready-to-go right out of the box. This camera is ideal for single operator shooting applications including film, documentary and television production, as well as corporate video and event videography work and newsgathering.

Built-in Electronic OLED Viewfinder - The 0.46 inch, 1.77 million dot built-in OLED electronic viewfinder offers a full array of menu options for controlling camera settings and supports HDR viewing.

Touchscreen LCD Monitor (LM-V1) - The fully adjustable and detachable, 1.23 million dot, 4-inch Touch Screen LCD Monitor works with Canon's exclusive AF technologies for easy monitoring and one-finger tap-focusing during shooting.

Camera Grip (GR-V1) - The new Rosette style camera grip makes rotating and removing the grip simpler and features an improved ergonomic design to help steady and focus the camera.

Handle Unit (HDU-2) - This handle unit can be attached to the camera body without tools, and features a new handle screw that enables fast and easy attachment. The unit can also be used to mount a variety of optional peripherals.

Integrated Audio - Note that instead of tying in the XLR ports into the handle, the EOS C200 includes the XLR inputs on the camera body.

Dual DiG!C DV 6 Image Processors

The EOS C200 Digital Cinema Camera features Canon’s newly developed dual DiG!C DV 6 image processors, which powerfully process high-resolution image data.

The two on-board DiG!C DV 6 image processors allow for the recoding of 1,800 horizontal TV lines in 4K. The DiG!C 6 is Canon’s sixth-generation Image processor that uses proprietary technology, allowing you to achieve high performance and creative freedom when acquiring images.

Over Sampling HD Processing

The EOS C200 features Over Sampling HD Processing*, a high-image-quality signal processing system to satisfy a broad spectrum of video production needs by effectively utilizing the abundant powers of 4K image expression in 2K (2048 x 1080) / Full HD (1920 x 1080) recording. During the Over Sampling HD Processing, pixels interpolated and 4K RGB data is generated together to produce 2K/HD data generated using non-additive resizing.

* NOTE: Over Sampling HD Processing is not available with Cinema RAW Light recording or 120p/100p.

Extended Sensitivity

The EOS C200 supports an ISO range of between 160 and 25,600. The range expands to between 100 to 102,400 when Extended Sensitivity is set on the camera. This range of ISO settings provide you with more creative freedom. Low ISO values allow you to use large iris settings and shallow depth of field, even in scenes of bright light. The higher ISO values provide you with more flexibility in dimly lit situations.

Dual Pixel CMOS AF Technology

The EOS C200 Digital Cinema Camera features Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF (DAF) Technology. DAF is a breakthrough AF technology that uses the CMOS sensor.

Each pixel in the camera's CMOS sensor is configured with two photodiodes. Two independent image signals can then be detected at each photosite. By implementing phase-difference AF, smooth focusing is accomplished using Canon EF lenses with much higher speed and accuracy than was possible with previous technologies. This is a major advantage during single operator shooting.

During AF, the two photodiodes of each pixel can independently bring in light. During imaging, the image signals are output using the two photodiodes that function as a single pixel.

Touch screen auto focus means you can select precisely what you want to focus upon. Canon provides multiple AF Modes to help you accurately reflect the focusing you require.

Continuous Autofocus and Face Detection

The EOS C200 has one-touch AF (with a push-button) and continuous AF within approximately 80% of the overall image area. Face Detection AF is another autofocus mode that can track a person's face in the frame and maintain focus on them. To further fine tune autofocus performance, the EOS C200 offers the ability to set the AF tracking speed and response. The EOS C200 offers AF and face detection with all Canon EF lenses, except manual focus lenses.

Dual Pixel CMOS AF with Touch Focus

Achieve faster focus with the included Touch Screen LCD Monitor (LM-V1), a new accessory with touchscreen support. Tapping the area of the frame quickly brings the image into focus. This ability to choose the subject for focusing with the tap of the screen helps to make focusing intuitive.

Dual Pixel Focus Guide

The camera's Dual Pixel Focus Guide takes advantage of Dual Pixel CMOS AF data to display focus assist information on the screen. The innovative user interface applies Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology to provide the user focus feedback. This lowers the barrier for focusing, especially when shooting in 4K, which requires strict focus accuracy.

The Dual Pixel Focus Guide presents the user with a rectangle in which to focus the subject. The rectangle turns green when the subject is in focus. If the subject is out of focus the box will turn gray and the arrows will indicate which way to adjust the lens to regain focus.

The camera also features a focus pre-set feature. Separate predetermined focus points can be selected. Then, when the SET button is pushed, the lens will move focus from one mark to the other. This is especially useful when focusing in scenes with multiple subjects.

AF Tuning

A newly developed menu function has been added for Auto-Focus tuning, allowing easy access to camera and lens settings. The AF Speed Tuning function allows users to set the lens drive speed to any of 10 steps. AF subject tracking characteristics can also be varied and set to any of 7 steps. These options allow you to select the appropriate responsiveness when changes have occurred with your subject.

Internal 4K RAW Recording with New Cinema RAW Light

The EOS C200 Digital Cinema Camera features Canon's newly developed Cinema RAW Light, a 4K RAW recording file format offering a smaller file size compared to Canon’s standard RAW** files, while maintaining the same high resolution, high color reproducibility, and wide dynamic range data to provide greater freedom in grading and compositing.

** NOTE: Standard RAW is found on the EOS C500/EOS C300 Mark II/EOS C700 Camera RAW

You can record DCI 4K 60p/50p with Cinema RAW Light to general-purpose media such as the CFast 2.0 card and a MP4 SD Card on the camera. Cinema RAW Light files are about 1/3 to 1/5 the size of Canon’s standard RAW files. The smaller file size and reduced bit rate speed up data transfer and allow internal recording to CFast™ cards.

The reduced file size also helps users extend storage capacity and transfer files on a network more easily. The high bit depth of Cinema RAW Light (10bit/12bit***) maximizes retention of color and dynamic range information, which is especially critical in HDR production.

*** NOTE: 12bit for 4K/30p and under, 10bit for 4K/60p and 50p. Each bit is efficiency optimized in consideration of visual properties.

Cinema RAW Light files can be transcoded to other commonly used file formats, such as DPX or ProRes for later editing and online delivery using Canon's CRD software.

Simultaneous Recording

DCI 4K video (4096x2160) in Cinema RAW Light can be recorded to a CFast™ 2.0 card while recording a 2K sub-recording video (2048x1080) in H.264 Long GOP UCbCr 4.2.0 to an SD card. The smaller file size of the 2K sub-recording file allows for easier editing.

Internal 4K UHD and Full HD Recording in MP4

The EOS C200 Digital Cinema Camera offers 4K UHD and Full HD recording in MP4 format, up to 60fps. The compact size of the MP4 codec allows the EOS C200 to capture images directly to low cost SD cards.

The C200 records UHD in 4:2:0 8-bit for MP4 onto SD cards. This makes it ideal for web production and other online content where a higher format is not necessary for your end product.

UHD (3840 x 2160) on SD Card - YCbCr 4:2:0 8-Bit with 150Mbps LongGOP in 24P (24.0Hz); 25P, 50P (50Hz); 23.98P, 29.97P, 59.94P (59.94Hz); + LPCM 16-Bit 4-channel Audio @ 48kHz

Full HD (1920 x 1080) on SD Card -  YCbCr 4:2:0 8-Bit with 35Mbps LongGOP in 24P (24.0Hz); 25P, 50P (50Hz); 23.98P, 29.97P, 59.94P (59.94Hz); + AAC 16-Bit 2-channel Audio @ 48kHz

Double Slot Recording

Mirror recording of 4K UHD/Full HD MP4 image files to the camera’s two SD slots is possible, saving time and effort of having to make copies of the data after recording.

Full HD 120p/100p Slow Motion Recording Support

The EOS C200 Digital Cinema Camera supports high-speed recording in Full HD at 120p/100p fps to enable additional creative freedom for slow motion replays and other special effects. It’s capable of a maximum 120fps, realizing even greater emotion in visual expression.

Professional Workflow

The EOS C200 Digital Cinema Camera offers a variety of professional workflows. The camera’s new Cinema RAW Light format provides professional shooters with the widest dynamic range and highest color fidelity for post production work. Using Canon's CRD software and Canon RAW Light codec with up to 15 stops of dynamic range is achievable.

MP4 recording is also possible on the camera for situations such as newsgathering, where capturing the image and speed through post are priority.

The EOS C200 supports both ACES 1.0 and HDR imaging through support for emerging HDR standards. Canon is working closely with 3rd party developers to help ensure maximum compatibility for these new formats with NLE and grading systems.

Canon Log 1 & Canon Log 3

The EOS C200 supports both Canon Log and Canon Log 3 Gamma. Canon Log is designed to reproduce, in post production, the entire tonal range of the CMOS image sensor. Log workflow provides the user with higher dynamic range, more highlight and shadow retention, and more flexibility in grading.

Canon Log 3 is ideal for professional end users seeking the most out of their camera system. Canon Log 3 provides the most versatility for post production, when recording in camera.

When using Canon RAW Light and Canon's RAW development software it is possible to additionally use Canon Log 2, which allows for a total of 15 stops of dynamic range out of the camera. Using this method requires additional post production time over other options yet provides the highest quality and flexibility for post.

Wide DR Gamma

The EOS C200 provides the Canon Wide Dynamic Range Gamma function that allows users to get many of the benefits of Canon Log Gamma while maintaining an 18% gray point similar to Rec. 709. By using this setting, users can maintain the full dynamic range of the sensor without the need for extensive post processing.  Use of Wide DR Gamma can greatly reduce post production time, while maintaining very high image quality.

Canon Cinema RAW Development 2.0

Canon has developed an improved workflow for the EOS C200, Cinema RAW Development 2.0, which supports the new Cinema RAW Light format and is provided as a free download. In addition to new development process support, it also brings features from the previous release including support HDR monitoring, Canon Log Gammas, ACES 1.0 and more.

Canon RAW Plugin for Avid Media Access

Canon RAW Plugin 2.0 for Avid® Media Access is provided as a free download, which allows users to directly import Canon Cinema RAW data into an Avid Media Composer® system. This helps streamline the workflow, while enabling stress-free real-time playback and reducing file ingest wait time.

HDR Viewing

The EOS C200 Digital Cinema Camera supports HDR recording in the ITU-R BT.2100 standard (PQ). HDR on-set monitoring is possible using HDR compatible reference displays, including all of Canon’s 4K UHD Reference Displays. The Electronic Viewfinder can be used with a new View Assist feature, providing a reference view that’s close to the PQ standard. Using this View Assist feature, the displayed dynamic range can be selected for 400% or 1600%, and linear display as well. This allows operators to shoot HDR footage while getting a preview of the finished product.

ACES 1.0 Support (except for 0.7)

The EOS C200 Digital Cinema Camera supports the Academy Color Encoding System (ACES 1.0). Using Canon supplied IDTs, images captured on the EOS C200 can be imported directly into the ACES compatible systems. In addition, video output from the camera can be monitored by selecting the ACESproxy.

ACESproxy allows the camera to send a monitor output that simulates ACES space to a compatible monitor or device. Modifications made using proxy output can be saved and later brought into the editing or grading suite to help insure changes and color choices made on set are accurately reproduced in post.

ACES image display is supported in Canon’s full line of 4K UHD Reference Displays.

The Canon 16–35mm f/2.8L III USM Super Wide Angle Zoom Lens - EF Mount offers a constant f/2.8 aperture and full frame coverage. The USM (Ultrasonic Motor) makes mechanical operation extremely quiet, and version "III" indicates an improved optical design which results in outer/corner sharpness.

This zoom incorporates a ring-type USM which, when combined with a high-speed CPU and optimized algorithms, delievers fast and accurate AF autofocus. If you prefer, there is a manual override. The lens maintains a sharp focus in low light. It also create a nice bokeh effect due to the rounded, 9-blade aperture diaphragm. Canon added a specialized coating to minimize flare and ghosting effects. The lens construction includes two UD lens elements to minimize chromatic aberration and eliminate color blurring of the subject on high resultion and contrast images.

In most inclement weather you can rest assured that this lens seals make it dust- and water-resistant.

Constant f/2.8 Maximum Aperture

The EF 16–35mm f/2.8L III USM has a bright constant maximum aperture of f/2.8, which provides superb control over depth of field and the ability to maintain the same aperture throughout the zoom range. This is particularly helpful when shooting outdoors at dusk or in inclement weather, or indoors in dimly lit rooms. At f/2.8, the EF 16–35mm f/2.8L III USM offers a bright view when composing images using the camera's viewfinder.

Significant Improvements in Outer / Corner Sharpness

The EF 16–35mm f/2.8L III USM features a new optical design engineered to deliver images of remarkable clarity and depth. It employs two large-diameter double-surface GMo lenses plus a ground aspherical lens to help decrease distortion, curvature of field and astigmatism. Two UD lenses help to reduce chromatic aberration, leading to precise color rendition, accurate edge-to-edge detail plus excellent contrast throughout the lens's zoom range. This results in sharp landscapes, reduced distortion in the edges of the frame and an overall improvement in image quality no matter the subject.

Subwavelength Coating (SWC) and Air Sphere Coating (ASC)

The EF 16–35mm f/2.8L III USM features both Subwavelength Coatings (SWC) and Air Sphere Coatings (ASC) on lens elements to help combat reflections, flare and ghosting, and deliver clean images with reduced aberrations from reflected light. Subwavelength Coatings help prevent reflections by arranging an array of wedge-shaped nanostructures on the lens's surface that are smaller than the wavelength of visible light and are able to help control reflection and flare. Air Sphere Coating technology puts an ultra-low refractive layer on the lens element designed to significantly reduce both flare and ghosting. These coatings, in concert with the EF 16–35mm f/2.8L III USM's overall optical formula, help to deliver a clean image to the camera's sensor, which can decrease the need for post-production correction and enhancement.

This Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM Zoom Lens features a maximum aperture of f/2.8. A redesign of its predecessor, this lens combines superb optics with the durable construction required by any professional. Internal construction consists of 18 elements in 13 groups, with (1) Super UD lens element and (2) UD lens elements to minimize chromatic aberration in the periphery. This is especially important at the widest angle. It also reduces color blurring around the edge of a subject.

Flourine coating on the front and rear lens surface will help reduce soiling, smears, and fingerprints while the body supplies an improved dust and water resistant function. It delivers an 84° - 34° diagonal angle of view and features close focus at 1.25' (0.38m). Accepts 82mm threaded, round filters.

A zoom lock lever enables the user to lock the lens at a particular zoom position for safe transportation.

Utilize the full-time manual focusing to maintain complete control, adjust, or alter the focus at any time in every shot, even when autofocus is engaged.

The Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM Standard Zoom Lens, improves upon the design of the original 70-200mm 2.8L iS USM professional lens to maintain the same telephoto characteristics you have come to expect while increasing the speed, the performance, and the optical quality. This 70-200mm lens features a maximum aperture of 1.28. Its lens is constructed out of 23 elements in 19 groups. One fluorite and five UD elements are included for increased quality and also reduced chromatic aberration.

With a minimum focus distance of 3.9 feet (1.2m), this lens can assist you in smaller spaces. You will also appreciate the Optical Image Stabilizer built into the lens which provides up to 4 stops of correction at all focal lengths. It fits a 77mm filter size and is both dust and water-resistant.

The Atomos Ninja Flame 7" 4K HDR HDMI Monitor / Recorder features AtomHDR, the solution for accurately displaying HDR Log footage with the brightness to see Log as the eye sees it. Camera Log (S-Log2, S-Log3, C-Log, V-Log etc) delivers maximum sensor detail in your recordings, but on monitors it looks washed out & makes judging exposure difficult. The typical compromise for filmmakers has been to use LUT's to get the approximate "look" but sacrifice detail or use calibration cards, waveform, and some rough figures to set exposure correctly. Instead, AtomHDR allows you to shoot what you see.

Bright 1500nit Display

Not all scenes call for HDR Log recording. In situations that don't require 10 stops of dynamic range, use the intensity of the 1500nit panel to monitor traditional standard dynamic range (SDR/Rec709) video at high brightness for outdoor production.

Simply pick the right mode (HDR or High Bright SDR) and start setting up your shot on the premium 7" display, boasting 10-bit processing, 1920 x 1200 resolution, 325ppi pixel density, optional calibration to overcome natural LCD color drift, and an arsenal of precision video setup tools.

Log Output Over HDMI

The Ninja Flame is the ideal partner for DSLR and Mirrorless cameras, with Log output over HDMI. From gimbal operators to corporate or indie filmmakers, your recordings are instantly upgraded to the de facto ProRes and DNxHR standard, avoiding technical roadblocks in post and letting you see the detail of your camera's Log on set with natural colors on the calibrated 7" AtomHDR High Bright monitor.

Affordable Media

The combination of affordable, reliable, high capacity SSD media with recording direct from the sensor means that the conventional 30 minute barrier imposed by many cameras can be bypassed.

Record Professional 4K & HD

Recording 4K and high frame rate HD within the camera might seem enough, but unless you record with the right codec you are restricting flexibility in post, and even run the risk of having your footage rejected on technical grounds. Along with the high pixel density of 4K, the Ninja Flame records higher resolution 10-bit color information, more precise yet efficient 4:2:2 color encoding, and to visually lossless, edit-ready codecs like Apple ProRes or AVID DNxHR. With Ninja Flame you can record professionally, capture full individual frames just like film, and open up more creativity in post and grading.

Simple OS

Atomos' flexible OS is packed with an extensive suite of scopes, all just one touch away and easy to use. The Video OS includes tools for focus, framing & exposure (Focus Peaking, 2:1/1:1 Zoom, Zebra, False Color, Frame Guides, SMPTE Safe Area, Waveform, RGB Parade, Vectorscope) along with a flexible 3D LUT implementation (use built-in LOG to Rec.709 Video or upload .cube files) and options for anamorphic de-squeeze monitoring.

Super Fast Charging

Atomos' patented continuous power system, pioneered on their HD products, is back with the 4K range. The hot-swappable dual battery system automatically switches to the second battery when power is low, and the blazingly fast battery charger and dual 4-cell batteries (optional accessories sold separately) virtually ensure continuous power in the field.

Advanced DSLR Audio Monitoring

Record audio as well as video externally on the Ninja Flame. Monitor up to 8 channels of HDMI audio or 2 channels of analog line-in on the dedicated audio meters, all locked frame accurate with adjustment for frame delay, gain adjustment, and Mic level adjustment when using external microphones (3.5mm unbalanced input).

Advanced Recording Capability

In addition to 10-bit 4:2:2 ProRes/DNx capability, the Ninja Flame adds recording functionality not found with other external recorders. Trigger start/stop recording over HDMI from select Canon, Sony, Panasonic, and Nikon cameras. Convert interlaced video from your camera to progressive on the fly with built-in 3:2 and 2:2 pulldown, and gain advanced functionality like Pre-roll (continuous cache recording) to never miss the action, and Time Lapse to maximize your creativity.

Field Production Ready

Atomos' built-in armor enhances protection & airflow. A wide variety of available accessories and the premium HPRC flight case (sold separately) ensure you are ready to hit the ground running.
