Overview
The ARRI Ground Glass - 4:3, Scope 2x, 800 Grit is designed for use with ALEXA Studio, ALEXA XT Studio, or ALEXA SXT Studio in 4:3 mode with 2x anamorphic lenses. Includes one frameline for 2.39:1 (Scope 2x) and stubs for 1.78:1. Features an 800 grit surface.
The physical frames of ALEXA Classic Studio, ALEXA Classic Studio with XR Module upgrade, ALEXA XT Studio or ALEXA SXT Studio ground glass and frameglow masks are the same as those used in ARRICAM film cameras. However, actual frameline dimensions are different, so be sure to use current ARRI-recommended ground glass for precise alignment of framelines and captured pixels. As 1.85:1 markings are very close to 1.78:1 markings, ARRI has omitted 1.85:1 marking from all ground glass and frameglow masks.
NOTE: Ground glass grit defines how bright a ground glass is and how easy it is to focus. 800 grit is the standard used in ALEXA Classic Studio, ALEXA Classic Studio with XR Module upgrade, ALEXA XT Studio, ALEXA SXT Studio, and film cameras (this is ARRI's recommended minimum grit). A 1200 grit ground glass (marked with "1200" on the ground glass) is brighter, but the finer the grit, the more difficult it will be to judge focus.
