Cine Gear Expo NY 2024: Program Highlights

Cine Gear Expo NY is taking place March 14-16, 2024 at Industry City in Brooklyn. AbelCine is participating with activities on the show floor and in our facility. Watch this page for updated information on the show and programming highlights.

    Nick Rivero (Meptik)Nick’s career followed a storied background in technology and system design for multi-camera & live production, He has spent his career traveling the world, working with everyone from concert artists, such as Taylor Swift to Lady Antebellum, to corporate, entertainment, and live experiences. 

    Since 2015, Nick has led the commercial operations at Meptik: a global team of designers and technicians focused on innovating virtual and immersive entertainment production workflows to create engaging visual experiences. Having years of combined experience in real-time workflows to complex system design, Meptik has worked with Fortune 100 companies, music artists, film productions, and brands to Upset Reality™ and create work that captures the imagination. Nick spends his off time with his kids, eating croissants, and tinkering with new technologies on the horizon. 

    Jon Kreutzer (ZeroSpace) - Jon is a serial entrepreneur, who has founded and run businesses in e-commerce, tech, arts & entertainment, live events, and production. Jon has executed multiple successful crowdfunding campaigns. He has produced music events and festivals attended by tens of thousands of people and has led creative productions and campaigns seen by tens of millions. Jon was an early leader in the immersive experiential market creating an award-winning experience in Manhattan that was visited by over 100,000 guests, which won TimeOut Magazine's Best of 2019.

    With ZeroSpace, Jon built the first and largest fixed-install virtual production studio in the Northeast and has executed ground-breaking productions with some of the biggest brands and creators in the world including Arc’Teryx, Lexus, Disney, Amazon, Meta, Sony, Epic Games, Universal Music Group, P&G, Justin Bieber and many more.

    Daniel Mallek of Vu Daniel Mallek (Vū) - At VūDaniel Mallek leads all creative endeavors, community engagement initiatives, and strategic partnerships within the media and entertainment industry. Daniel is also a filmmaker with experience directing projects of all types. He brings a unique perspective to production by pushing creative boundaries and adapting new tools and techniques for the craft.     Motion pictures move. With the evolution of smaller and lighter cameras the creative options for how and why cinematographers and directors might choose to use camera motion to tell the story are increasing every year. Join some of ICG Local 600’s leading Directors of Photography and Camera Operators in a discussion of how they work with directors to use camera moves large and small to define emotion, add impact, and shape the audience’s involvement with the story.
