A Look at Canon C500 Mark II with Rubidium Wu

Canon’s latest full-format Cinema EOS camera, the C500 Mark II, is a study in versatility. Join filmmaker Rubidium Wu as he describes his experiences shooting with the C500 Mark II and gives his perspective on how it fits into the equipment roster of a growing production company.

Featuring a small—and highly customizable—body, the C500 Mark II also comes equipped with outstanding dynamic range (>15 stops), a full-frame sensor, and Canon’s justly lauded color science, giving it one of the nicest images in its class. The Canon C500 Mark II is uniquely positioned to do many different things, and do them well. From web video and corporate film, to documentaries and features, we’ve found it to be a camera system that can really grow with the filmmaker, presenting few compromises along the way.

Check out the video above as Rubidium takes us on a “deep dive” with the C500 Mark II, including the menus, workflows for various deliverable types, and some gorgeous footage from a couple of his recent projects.
