At the Bench: Angenieux Optimo Style 48-130

I had a chance to look over the new Angenieux Optimo Style 48-130mm lens, a hotly anticipated addition to the Optimo Style series. As a lens in the Style series, it is designed to complement the 16-40mm and 30-76mm zooms.

In this video, I give an overview of the specifications and key features of the new lens, as well as explain the significance of things like Angenieux’s "Ultra S35" coverage. By now including a zoom with the longer telephoto focal lengths, Angenieux has taken the Style series from a set of lightweight alternatives to their larger Optimo zooms to a complete standalone set with full focal length range coverage. DPs and operators looking for the characteristic look of Angenieux lenses in a lightweight package will soon have another option to add to their tool kits.
