The Sony Z280 is a great camcorder for single-to-small-crew shooters who are being asked to create 4K content. In this blog, I touch on some of the key features of the camcorder and shoot some test footage.
The Z280 is a 4K ½" 3-CMOS camcorder that records in 4:2:2 10 bit to SxS cards. The Z280 can record in REC709, S-LOG3, and Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG). You can think of HLG as a ready-to-air mode that allows HDR content to be created for HDR playback. HLG does not require post color correction, and it contains the dynamic range for HDR display.
