Hands on with the Arri MFF-2 Follow Focus

A few weeks ago Arri dropped off their new MFF-2 follow focus for us to play with. I spent some time looking at the features and differences between the MFF-2 and the popular MFF-1 follow focus.

Designed with maximum versatility in mind, the MFF-2 now features interchangeable focus knobs and is available in two different bases: a cine style base with a 1:2 ratio, and an HD version that utilizes a 1:1 gear ratio for lenses with a shorter throw (such as HDSLR lenses).

I also had a chance to play with the MBP-1 Pro BP system, which allows you to adapt your MBP-1 for use with a larger bridgeplate. Watch my video above as I detail some of the new features of this versatile follow focus and bridgeplate system.
