Canon's much anticipated EOS C300 is a modular Super-35 sized sensor camera available in both PL and EOS (EF) mount. The modular nature and size of the C300 means the camera can live in many configurations - from the fully decked out studio camera to a light-weight run-&-gun setup.

Soon after the announcement of the EOS Cinema C300, Canon brought the camera by and let us check it out. I put together this video with my first impressions of the camera.

It's been another exciting year in our industry, with lots of evolutionary and revolutionary changes. Many of the trends we've seen coming for the past several years came to fruition in 2011, leaving some to wonder what comes next. We have had a number of different events over the last few months featuring Sony's F65 camera. The F65 offers unparallelled 8k resolution and produces stunning 4k imagery. We've done a lot of testing with it, and found both the resolution and dynamic range to be off the charts.

It may seem like a simple topic, but a properly balanced fluid head is a necessity for getting that perfect shot. The process of balancing a camera on a fluid head can be quite simple, or rather time consuming, depending on your camera setup.

ARRI's latest lighting innovation is the L7 series of LED-based Fresnels. The line is made up of three fixtures: the L7-T (3200K tungsten-balanced), the L7-D (5400K daylight-balanced), and the L7-C (color-controllable). The L7-C can be adjusted from 2700K-10000K, with an additional green/magenta control. It also features a "Hue Mode" for theatrical color effects.

We are always looking for ways to accessorize cameras so they are even more functional for our clients. Our latest design for the F3 is a ProVFM Viewfinder Mount Kit that enables the use of a professional electronic HD viewfinder with the camera.

Recently, Jonathan Miller of Hive Lighting stopped by our showroom to demonstrate a prototype of his new Hornet light. Hive lights employ plasma to produce a very bright and efficient light source.
