Sony BURANO: Behind the Scenes of The Clubhouse

Netflix's The Clubhouse: A Year with the Red Sox is a documentary series that gets up close and personal with the 2024 Red Sox, following the ups and downs of a roller-coaster season. As the first major project to shoot with the Sony BURANO, we sat down with Director of Photography Terry Zumalt and his long-time First AC Devin Keebler, to discuss in more detail.

This project brought together a team with deep experience in sports documentary – Zumalt and Keebler worked with Director Greg Whiteley on Last Chance U and Cheer. They were already entrenched in the Sony ecosystem from previous projects and knew that for this one a more compact full-frame camera would be perfect.

Watch the full interview above to learn more about how the team used the gear in unique shooting situations, and stream The Clubhouse: A Year with the Red Sox on Netflix now.

Additional B-roll footage captured at Fenway Park with the Sony FX3.
