Fresh Perspectives 2024: Behind the Scenes of "Police Dive"

Get a closer look at the making of Police Dive, a short documentary directed and filmed by Teresa Carante, one of our 2024 Fresh Perspectives in Cinematography grantees. Police Dive focuses on Sergeant Mike Berry, one of the world's leading underwater investigators. Based at the Virginia State Police and with over 40 years of experience as a public safety diver, Sgt. Berry has pioneered innovative retrieval techniques and managed high-stakes diving investigations across the globe.

Police Dive was shot on the ARRI ALEXA 35 and a significant portion of the footage is captured underwater. Learn more about how the team achieved this by watching the full BTS above. To learn more about Police Dive, visit the film's website or follow @police_dive on Instagram. You can also catch the film's premiere at the Double Exposure Investigative Film Festival in Washington, D.C.

The Fresh Perspectives in Cinematography Grant is presented in partnership with ARRI and The ASC, with Post-Production Partner Goldcrest. Get more details on the grant and learn about the other awardees.
