All AbelCine's business channels from Equipment Services through Production Services assisted in the production of the event. Dawn Terranova, AbelCine's Executive Director of Business Development, served as a primary liaison to NBC Sports. Jeff Lee, AbelCine's Director of Education & Project Specialization, gave a high-level presentation on the future of cinematic sports technology.
This was the third year that NBC Sports held this event, where they bring together technical and engineering leaders from its various properties for a closer look at all the latest technology. More than a dozen vendors were chosen to show their latest equipment and solutions, including cameras, lenses, robotics, workflow, virtual production, immersive technologies, and more.
“The timing is perfect, because we are actively in planning stages right now for all of our fall sports launches — college football, college basketball, NFL, and NBA — and then we have Olympics and Super Bowl coming up next year. We have a lot on our plate, and this allows us to bring all the key leaders from across the company together to have open conversations with vendors and product owners,” said Kamal Bhangle, Director, Live Event Workflow and Remote Engineering, NBC.
