First Look: Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K

Erik Naso from Newsshooter visited the Blackmagic Design booth to hear more about the new Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4K camera.

Unlike the original model, the new version uses a full size 4/3rds sensor, mated to an active Micro 4/3rds mount, which will utilize the entire image circle of MFT lenses. The new camera shoots DCI 4K (4096 x 2160) at up to 60 fps and, by cropping into the sensor, up to 120 fps in HD. Sporting dual card slots, one SD and one CFast 2.0, the camera can capture in CinemaDNG RAW, including the compressed 3:1 and 4:1 flavors, as well as ProRes up to 422HQ.

Other new features include a dedicated stills mode and a mini-XLR connector, which provides phantom power. Available in September, it's priced at $1295 and will include a full license of DaVinci Resolve Studio. For more details, watch the video above and head over to Newsshooter to read the full article.
