At the Bench: Using the ARRI WCU-4 with ALEXA Mini

A while back, I showed how to connect to the ALEXA Mini using your phone. This wireless connection allows control of basic camera functions, freeing the operator to compose and operate. In this blog, wireless connectivity is taken even further using the WCU-4.

The WCU-4 allows an assistant to not only pull focus and change all lens parameters; it allows comprehensive control over the Mini as well. In this blog, I show how to set up the WCU-4 to interact with the ALEXA Mini. I also take a look at the CForce Mini motors and how to connect them to the Mini.

In these situations, another method of changing the camera settings is required. Every ALEXA Mini has Wi-Fi built into it, and by default it is turned on.
