Overview
The ARRI ALEXA LF IFM Optical Clear is an Internal Filter Module which is optically clear. Use this when you do not want ND attenuation. Optically clear means that there are no unwanted color shifts. This filter is designed specifically for use with the ARRI ALEXA LF.
Filtering behind the lens, rather than in front, saves time and reduces weight, reflections, and complexity. It also reduces unwanted reflection between the last lens element and the sensor, which is sometimes called narcissism. The addition of an IFM futher benefits your sensor by protecting it from dirt contamination during lens changes on set or location.
NOTE: An IFM shim may be required. Your ALEXA LF camera includes the LF IFM Filter Holder pre-installed and may not require a shim. Please speak with an AbelCine Salesperson for details.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This filter is designed specifically for use with the ARRI ALEXA LF (Large Format) digital cinema camera, and is not compatible with previous ALEXA generations.
