The Tiffen Black Glimmer Digital Diffusion FX 5 Filter - 4x5.65 is a unique filter that cannot be reproduced by any combination of diffusion filters. Using the same advanced diffusion filter technology as the Digital Diffusion/FX, Tiffen produced a filter ideal for high-definition cameras. It provides an image with enhanced beauty, while maintaining the richness of both colors and blacks. This diffusion filter maintains sharpness and softens detail in a distinctive manner. It brightens all skintones and adds a mild glow with silky transition to highlights.

The Digital Diffusion/FX side of this combination, fine optical filter introduces a slight reduction in contrast across its range. It does not introduce a halation affect. This is because the acid etching in the glass delicately bends light across the surface of an image. It also reduces the ability of stray light to scatter or cause halation, which is commonly associated with the elements enclosed in a mist type filter. The subtleness of this process means that the color chart is not unduly washed out.
