Canon 24–105mm f/4L IS II USM Zoom Lens - EF Mount

The Canon 24-105mm USM Zoom f/4L IS II is a Canon L-Series EF Mount lens featuring an Ultrasonic Motor (USM), with Version II improvements over its predecessor. This lens utilizes a ring-type USM which, when combined with a high-speed CPU and optimized algorithms, delievers fast and accurate AF autofocus (manual override is available for those who prefer it).

The lens includes a EW-83M hood to cut unwanted light and protect the front element. Canon added Fluorine coatings to the front and rear lens elements to protect against fingerprints and smudging. The lens is also dust- and moisture-resistant. A convenient tool called Zoom Lock prevents lens creep when not in use.

This 24-105mm Zoom also features an Image Stabilizer, which functions in AF (Auto Focus) or MF (Manual Focus) mode, and is effective for handheld shots under the following conditions:

• In semi-dark areas, such as indoors or when shooting outdoors at night
• In locations where flash photograph is prohibited like at an art museum or during a live stage performance
• When your footing is uncertain
• When you pan a moving subject
• For times when a fast shutter setting cannot be used

NOTE: For obvious reasons, a fully effective Image Stabilizer may not function from a violently shaking vehicle or other mode of transportation. There are plenty of gimbal stabilization devices sold separately which work effectively in those instances.

Only one filter may be attached to the front of this lens at a time. Canon recommends the 77mm Circular Polarizing Filter PL-C B (sold separately) when requiring a polar filter. You will need to remove the hood to attach a filter.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Per Canon, extenders cannot be used with this lens.
