Join AbelCine in NY for a special Gear Up event focusing on the newest tools for HDR production!
On Thursday, January 23, we're inviting you to Gear Up: HDR Production, an evening event where you will learn about the newest tech in the HDR production space. Our showroom will feature manufacturer booths displaying the latest gear, which attendees are encouraged to go hands on with. Manufacturer specialists will be on hand as well to answer any questions.
The evening will also feature a technical HDR overview from AbelCine Camera Technology Specialist Geoff Smith, followed by a special panel with guest speakers Brendan Hermes and Alexander Santoro from Radical Media / Outpost Digital discussing their experiences working with and delivering in HDR.

Speakers
Brendan Hermes – Executive Producer, Radical Media / Outpost Digital
Brendan Hermes is Executive Producer of Outpost Digital, RadicalMedia’s in-house post-production company. With a career in both production and post production that spans more than 20 years, and included credits with just about every major network and streamer, Brendan has grown with the industry and its expanding technical workflows.
As the head of RadicalMedia’s post production department, and its 14-18 projects a year, Brendan has seen his share of challenges. From analog deliveries to 4K HDR, and production challenges in the 8K space, visual effects and animation, he has shepherded success by learning through experience.
Titles like Gary Gulman: The Great Depresh (HBO) in the comedy space, Abstract: The Art of Design in the docu-series space (Netflix), The Longest Wave in the Feature Documentary space (RedBull), and a production career in Live TV and Awards Shows help keep Brendan at the top of his game.
An avid trail runner and ultra-marathoner, Brendan also enjoys cooking, mountain biking, and traveling. When he’s not coaching softball and baseball teams for his kids, he manages the online production portal which he founded that provides over 50,000 industry professionals a free outlet to seek work and to staff productions.
Alexander Santoro – Chief Technical Engineer, Radical Media / Outpost Digital
Alexander Santoro is Chief Engineer for Outpost Digital, the in house post- production department at Radical Media. Alex has spent his career supporting productions through day-to-day systems management and workflow creation ranging from shooting in the field to final delivery. He’s provided management and support for a facility of over 100 edit systems and servers.
His credits include over 50 productions in Documentary, Docuseries and special events.
Alex has always been a nerd at heart and his hobbies include everything from open source 3d printing to reading graphic novels. His latest project has been setting up a 5.1.4 Dolby Atmos surround sound home theater system.
Josh Kanuck – Freelance Colorist
Josh has been in post-production for over a decade and is the credited colorist for Abstract: The Art of Design, Season 2, Netflix.
