Join AbelCine and Sony on Thursday, June 8 from 11am – 3pm to get a closer look at the AXS-R7 raw recorder in our NY showroom. Guests will get a chance to get hands-on with the camera, as well as have their questions answered by representatives from Sony and AbelCine Specialists. This is an informal, showroom demo so feel free to stop by anytime between 11am and 3pm.
Sony’s AXS-R7 16-bit linear RAW recorder joins the original AXS-R5. Created in response to Cinematographers of Feature film, Commericals, Reality, Documentary, Willdlife, and underwater, among other production genres needs, the R7 delivers continuous 4K 120 FPS recording (with the F55), up to 30 seconds of cache recording, a more rugged chassis, more rigid attachment to the camera and dual media slots. Compared to previous Sony 4K recorders, the new recorder now doubles the maximum record frame rate in 4K RAW from 60 FPS up to 120 FPS with the F55 camera. For shooting at higher frame rates, the recorder captures 2K RAW at up to 240 FPS from the F55 and F5 for playback at 10x super slow motion. With the recorder docked to the F55 and F5, cinematographers can take advantage of RAW cache recording at 23.98P for up to approximately 30 seconds while in standby mode, an important feature in documentary or wildlife production where capturing spontaneous action is required.
