Right before I had to hop on a plane heading to NAB in Las Vegas, Jose from Core SWX stopped by our Brooklyn location to show us their new Helix line of batteries.
The Helix batteries use the familiar Core SWX form factors: XL, Mini and Prime. However, when coupled with Core’s new battery plates, Helix will go from 14.4V all the way up to 33.3V in order to provide the higher voltage required for today’s most power-hungry camera systems, such as the ARRI ALEXA LF, ALEXA 65 and Sony VENICE. One great feature of the Helix batteries is their ability to “swing” between these two voltage standards (12V and 24V) simply by using the appropriate battery mounting plate. The batteries indicate when they are running at high voltage or standard voltage as well. Check out the video for more details, and I’ll see you in Las Vegas!
