SmallHD Introduces New SmallHDR Production Monitors

Today SmallHD introduced their new line of SmallHDR monitors, which aren't that small at all. They have introduced three new HDR-capable monitors in sizes of 17, 24, and 32 inches. Each features a 1920x1080 10-bit LCD panel, dual SDI inputs and outputs, and HDMI in and out.

The monitors feature the same great operating system as the 502 and 702 displays, so you get all the features found in those monitors including scopes, false color modes, and ColorFlow 3D LUT processing. Both the 17" and 24" monitors have up to 1000 nit output, and the 32" goes up to 1500 nit. This enables proper HDR previewing on set and also means these are just great high brightness monitors.

SmallHD brought these new HDR capable monitors by our office the other day, and what we all found really impressive -- beyond the HDR capability -- was the build quality. They are extremely rugged monitors, built for the riggors of production. They have full aluminum construction making them extremely durable, and SmallHD went out of their way to give you the features that are needed on modern sets. They've included a rail system in the back for mounting accessories, battery plate options for using Anton Bauer or V-mount batteries, an XLR 4-pin 12V power input, and 2-pin Lemo power outputs for powering accessories like wireless receivers. The monitors come with table stands and can also be put on a C-stand with no extra accessories needed. All of these design features are meant to make the SmallHDR monitors perfect for production use, which is really unique.
