Our technical specialists and affiliate instructors have first-hand experience working with the technology and subjects they teach. We offer unbiased, practical points of view that focus on how tools are actually used in a production environment. We understand the demands of production and impart real-world knowledge in a concise, easy to digest format.

Scope of Instruction

We offer workshops and training classes on a variety of subjects related to the tools, craft and business of production.

Some of our most popular classes focus on helping you build your skills in production technology. We offer in-depth training such as REDucation, Phantom Intensive, Steadicam Bronze, MōVI Intensive, and colorist workshops with the ICA.

We also offer workshop series on topics such as DIT / Engineering or AC Skills. Each workshop is designed to stand on its own, but taking multiple classes in a series gives a deeper understanding of the subject. Our Core classes cover the Fundamentals and 101s of topics like sensors and exposure. We also offer classes on Concepts & Theory of topics like gamma, colorspace, compression, codecs, RAW and log recording.




Our Camera classes cover subjects specific to Camera and Lens technology and operation; the role of Assistant Camera and responsibilities around the camera; and subjects relating to DIT and Engineering and on-set workflow.




Our Production classes focus on all aspects of Lighting, from technologies to lighting techniques; best location Audio practices, gear and techniques; and the role and responsibilities of the Producer.


I have taken several of the digital cinema camera classes to bring my skill level up substantially from film to digital cinema workflow. Learning the theory of the science is very important for me. AbelCine explains it all thoroughly. I plan to take all of the AbelCine class offerings. Next to on the job learning, it's better than any film school could possibly offer and at much less the cost.

Our Movement classes are all about the emerging tools and methods for moving the camera. Our Stabilizers workshops offer practical instruction on Steadicam, MōVI and DJI systems; and our Drones sessions offer operational and regulatory information on Freefly, DJI and other aerial systems.




Our Post classes offer various levels of instruction on Color & Post topics such as DaVinci Resolve and audio for post. We also offer beginner and intermediate Editing workshops on Adobe Creative Suite and Final Cut Pro.


Trained Techs & Operators

Learn the skills required to operate in-demand production technology

To support the proper use of advanced production technology, we offer in-depth workshops on specialized equipment. Our trained tech and operator lists help productions locate qualified technicians and promote those individuals who have taken the time to complete our training. Currently, lists are available for the ARRI ALEXA, Phantom high-speed cameras, and the MōVI stabilization system.
