Cine Gear 2014: Zacuto Accessories

At our pre-Cine Gear Zacuto demo in LA, product designers Steve Weiss and Jens Bogehegn debuted their new Control Grip and Z-Motor. It was the first time they had appeared outside of the lab, and at Cine Gear Expo, I visited the Zacuto booth to get an even more detailed walkthrough from Steve.

The Control Grip allows you to easily control cameras with start/stop, five programmable buttons, and a full menu control joystick. With various custom cables, it can be used with cameras such as the Canon C-series, Sony F5/F55, Arri AMIRA/ALEXA, and RED Epic/Scarlet. When it is combined with the new Z-Motor, users can create a rocker-style servo lens similar to an ENG lens. Watch the video above for more information about the system, and other new accessories.
