At the Bench: Teradek Serv Pro for Multi-Cam

The Teradek Serv Pro has become a favorite for on-set wireless video monitoring. The Serv Pro is not unlike the original Teradek Cube in that it is a video encoder allowing for video streaming over a network. The Serv Pro is specifically built for on-set use to quickly and easily deliver video to an iOS or Android device via Teradek's free VUER app.

While it's not a zero delay device like the Bolt, Teradek has really optomized the Serv Pro to keep delay to minium. Although the delay is there, the video feed itself is impressive and high quality. The big advantage of the Serv Pro is that it can also be configured to connect to the Teradek Link or another wireless network for multi-cam viewing. Each Serv Pro can send video to up to 10 devices, with up to 4 streams viewable on the VUER app — at the same time. This is a great option, enabling an iPad or similiar device to be an effective multi-camera video monitor. Watch my video above as I show how to setup the Serv Pro for multi-camera use and how to use the VUER app.
