We recently had the chance to test Sony's new FE 70-200mm F2.8 GM OSS II lens on the FX3 Full Frame Cinema Camera.

Recently I had the opportunity to take a first look at the brand new Fujinon Premista 28-100mm T2.9 zoom lens. One of the few full frame zoom lenses, this lens will also have a sister lens released by the end of 2019, the Premista 80-250mm T2.9-3.5.

Sigma now has two high-speed cine zooms on the market: the 18-35mm T2 and the 50-100mm T2. Both are designed for Super 35mm camera systems, are under $4,000, and are available in EF, E and PL mounts.

The LWZ.3 21-100mm Lightweight Zoom from ZEISS is an extremely versatile lens that's designed for Super 35mm and APS-C sensor based camera systems. It is well suited for corporate, documentary and narrative work – especially projects where both budget and high image quality are considerations.

Angenieux has created three zoom lenses in their Optimo Anamorphic lineup: the 30-72, 56-152, and the 44-440. In this video, I take a closer look at the 44-440mm.

The other day I had the chance to get a peek at the new Fujinon MK50-135 zoom lens. This lens compliments the recently-announced MK18-55 (watch Matt Porwoll’s video on the 18-55, part of his Behind the Lens documentary zoom series).

Zeiss has had a line of reasonably priced cinema zooms for a few years now, but the introduction of the Zeiss LWZ.3 21-100mm takes things up a notch. The 21-100 covers a much longer focal length range than any of their other lenses, and is more than a pound lighter than its predecessors.

Canon’s CN-E Compact Zooms have been a great addition to documentary cinematography since their release five years ago. The image quality is superb and is a great choice for higher-end productions. They offer a comfortable size and weight, with a fast, consistent T2.8 aperture. This pair of lenses offers a great focal length range that will cover you in most shooting situations.
